GIVING TO ISLAND ACADEMY
Island Academy is grateful for the generosity of people across the island
and across the world who regularly offer financial support to the school.
Like all independent schools, Island Academy relies on donors to help
fund operations and areas of critical need.
Island Academy is not subsidized by the government of Antigua and Barbuda.
The only source of funding is tuition fees and the kindness of donors.
We are grateful for your support as we strive to maintain a world-class
education that is accessible to bright and ambitious students from Antigua
and abroad.
Island Academy is an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Annual Assistance Program
Each year generous gifts to the Annual Assistance Program from friends
make it possible for Island Academy to continue its educational mission.
The Annual Program directly supports the talented faculty for which the
school is known by providing additional training, resources and materials.
Equally important, gifts to the Annual Assistance Program provide an
Island Academy education for many families that otherwise could not afford
it. Each year, between 20 and 30% of the students receive bursaries. This
important initiative allows the school to maintain its diversity and fulfill
its mission of serving the best and brightest students, regardless of
their financial background.
Annual Fund gifts range from $5 to $125,000 and every gift, no matter
the size, is an important recognition of the importance of the school
to the island.
Scholarship Program
Island Academy offers donors the opportunity to fully sponsor one worthy
student for the year through its Scholarship Program. Through the sponsor
program, donors provide tuition, books, activity and uniform fees for
one student for an entire year.
This valuable program has afforded many students the opportunity to not
only learn inside the classroom, but experience all of the enrichment
activities outside of the classroom that are the hallmark of Island Academy.
Capital Campaign
Island Academy has recently embarked on a Capital Campaign to build a
permanent home for the school on 15 acres of prime real estate in the
center of Antigua.
This exciting project will unify the Primary and Secondary schools on
one centrally located campus. The new campus will feature 20 large classrooms,
a library, a science lab, a technology lab, playing fields, a gymnasium,
meeting space and an administration building.
Endowment Fund
Island Academy seeks to secure its long-term financial future with the
creation of an Endowment Fund which will, along with its new campus, serve
as the bedrock for moving the school forward. Income from the Fund will
allow the school to offer financial assistance to greater numbers of bright
students, and will continue to attract quality faculty and staff from
all over the world.
